Keeping The Pool Clean

If you have a pool, then you know that there are several things that you need to do before it’s opened and throughout the season to maintain the water and the structure of the pool. Fortunately, there are a few weekly pool maintenance hacks that you can use to keep your amenity in working condition without spending a lot of money. Make sure your pool has a gauge so that you can view the water level during the week. If you notice the water level getting too low, then you know that there is a leak somewhere. If the water level is too low, then it can cause the filter to malfunction as well as other essential components that keep the water flowing.

A pair of pantyhose over the main drain can catch larger pieces of debris so that they get out of the water and so that they don’t flow through the filter. You could also put a pair on the end of your skimmer to collect more pieces of debris, similar to the design of a net in the ocean. If there is a lot of oil in the water, which is likely if there are a lot of people in the pool at one time, then put a tennis ball or two in the pool. The material on the tennis ball will absorb the oils that are in the water. These oils include suntan lotion and bath washes that might be on someone when they get in the pool. Remove the tennis balls when you want to get in the water again. Baking soda can be used to clean the sides of the pool, keeping the liner sparkling like it was when you put the pool up in the yard. Baking soda can also be used to increase the pH levels in the water.
